40years of Independence-Where is Democracy and Gender Equality?

Jui - 16 year old married girl’s hand chopped by her husband as she wanted to study:

I6th December, 2011, 40 years after our Victory day. We had 9 months war from 26th March 1971 and had victory on 16th December on the same year. I still remember the immense joy and happiness we all had for having an independent country- Bangladesh.

I woke up in the morning with a smile, thinking, today is our victory day, celebration of 40 years. I looked from my verandah and saw my pet 3 ducks running and enjoying the sun of winter, new flowers blooming everywhere on the green, green grass. I took a deep breath of the fresh morning air. I looked towards the right hand side of the garden, and saw our national flag fluttering proudly in the soft cool breeze. What a happy and proud day.

•To play a prominent role in identifying and promoting qualified senior female leadership

•To inspire and enable women to tap into professional and informal networks and mentoring

•To increase the flow of women in business schools

•To adapt the curriculum and focus more on capability building
